History on a Pinhead

A thriving town around the time of the Civil War, Aiken was said to once have a population around 1,000.

It had already become a ghost town in the 1950s when it became one of several towns flooded in the creation of Lake Belton.

The name of this former town was AIKEN. It was referred to as Old Aiken by old timers when I was young; there was often talk about it. - Lane Chaffin, Moffat TX, April 5, 2021
