History
in a Pecan Shell
Absorbed into greater Fort
Worth, the town was named after a geographic rise in the landscape.
Scottish immigrant John Kennedy opened a laboratory here in the 1920s
to manufacture a remedy to control Black Leg - a serious cattle disease.
Kennedy also invested in real estate and built the Globe Aircraft
Company - a facility that was once used by Bell Helicopter for testing.
Now, closed, the old Kennedy holdings resemble an abandoned military
installation. |
