History in
a Pecan Shell
For a sizable town
(Texas standards), Corinth has little history. It dates from 1880
when the railroad (the Dallas and Wichita) built through. The town’s
entry in the Handbook of Texas lists these few facts and the various
populations over the years but only since 1970. From a mere 461 people
in 1970, Corinth was near Interstate Highway 35 and as a result, grew
alongside the neighboring towns. A few families continue to farm the
land that they have owned for generations, but most residents commute
to work in Denton or the
Metroplex. |
