History in
a Pecan Shell
After a much-needed
bridge was built here across the Brazos River in 1892, Judge N. M.
Dennis saw the need (or opportunity) for a community here.
A post office was granted in 1895 but the town never developed beyond
more than a "church and school” community. In the 1950s and 1960s
the population briefly surpassed 100 and now sits just below that
figure. |
