History
in a Pecan Shell
There were enough residents in 1901 to be granted a post office here,
although no one seems to remember how many. Ten years after it opened,
the post office was discontinued. It reopened two years later but
closed for good in 1919.
Today, only a cemetery and the old school building remain.
Slater, Texas was suggested for inclusion by Dennis McDonaugh who
submitted the photographs here. |
