History in
a Pecan Shell
Named after the
Peters' Colony, this Lewisville suburb is a 3,000 acre residential
neighborhood with nothing left of the early history. In 1852 this
was the site of the Hedgcoxe War. It's present incarnation was formed
in 1973.
The Colony is one of four communities in Texas
prefaced with "the." The
Grove (ghost town), The
Woodlands (residential and business community), and The
Flat (AKA Fort Griffin, ghost town.) |
