History
on a Pinhead
Established sometime prior to 1900, little is known of Timothy. No
population figures are available (for any year) and while it did have
two schools and four churches in the 1930s, no one knows for sure
if there was ever any sort of business district. The community lost
its schools during the great consolidation after WWII
and it is now designated a "dispersed rural community."
Photographer's Note:
"Timothy may not be a real town, but it does have a house,
church, cemetery and a road named after it: Timothy Road. It is just
NE of Chatfield and east of FM 1129,
14 miles NE of Corsicana."
