Timeline
of Deanville's History:
1840s: Horatio Chriesman moves from Washington
County. He is widely accepted as the towns first settler.
1872: Town is named after storekeeper James L. Dean.
1884: Deanville has a population of 50 and businesses include a steam
engine, a cotton gin, and gristmill.
1877: Deanville's post office opens in Dean's store.
1880s: A public school was opened which merged with Caldwell Schools
in 1973.
1913: The Houston and Texas Central Railway arrives.
1917: St. John's Lutheran Church is built. |
