History
on a Pinhead
Settled by Wends in
the late 1850s, the community was a spore colony from the Wendish
base of Serbin.
The Trinity Lutheran Church opened in 1870 and ten years later a post
office was granted, honoring the local storekeeper Fedor Soder. The
1884 population was 130 but many residents moved to Thorndale.
The post office closed in 1905. The population has remained slightly
below 100 from the mid 1930s. |
