Murray
has had an interest in history since the 8th grade when he caught his teacher's
contagious enthusiasm for the subject. Born and partially raised in Austin, Murray's
father took a job in Brazoria County where Murray grew to adulthood and spent
many years before settling down in Gonzales, a town he was always curious about,
but never fully explored. He's been making up for lost time. Times Past was suggested
to the The Gonzales Inquirer as a feature and they wisely took him up on his offer.
Today Murray is a photographer and writer based in Hallettsville, Texas.
Lone Star Diary (formerly Times Past) appears regularly in these Texas
newspapers: the Hallettsville Tribune Herald, the Moulton Eagle, and The Yoakum
Herald Times. Murray Montgomery's Historical Column: Lone
