History
in a Pecan Shell
Early history of Arcadia's founding and population
figures are hard to come by. Although it had two schools early in
the 20th Century, they merged with a larger district by the late 1930s.
After WWII,
the community had a population estimated at 25 with two stores in
operation plus a cotton gin. Twenty people have been reported as residents
of Arcadia from 1972 through the 2000 census. |
