History in
a Pecan Shell
Although no population
figures are available for Yero, nor the origin of the unusual name,
the community did have enough people to justify a post office from
1899 to 1907.
It reportedly had a school just after the turn of the century but
by the 1940s it was reduced to dispersed residences and two businesses.
The former community is no longer shown on most maps but a cemetery
remains. |
