"In New
Braunfels is das Leben Shöen"
Landa Park has both a man-made Olympic pool and a gorgeous swimming
hole that rivals Barton
Springs. There is a large bathhouse, built in 1937 by the Works
Progress Administration, with showers, dressing rooms and full amenities.
The Olympic pool is surrounded by concrete and grass. Shade is provided
by giant umbrellas over picnic tables. There are dedicated lap lanes
and a large shallow area. A separate wading pool is quite large and
has fantasy mushroom and other fun things for kids to play with. The
swimming hole is L-shaped and has grassy banks on either side which
are well-shaded. There are rope swings, wooden platforms in the middle
for sunning and diving, a water volleyball court, and a slide that
plunges you into the cold water. Lifeguards are on duty at all three
pools. |

In addition,
the Comal River has been dammed
in several areas throughout the park, creating small wading pools
where you can splash with the geese. Landa Park's amenities have been
extremely well-incorporated into the natural landscape. The grounds
are beautiful and seem to go on forever.
Landa Park also has an 18-hole golf course and miniature golf course.
A miniature train runs around the 48-acre park. Twenty-five-acre Landa
Lake is serene. Paddleboats and rowboats can be rented and taken
out on the water. There are hiking and nature trails, tennis courts,
a recreation center, picnic areas, playscapes and sand volleyball.
Landa Park has everything!
Landa Park Update:
"The Landa Park bathhouse underwent extensive renovations in
2008 and is now a modern and family-friendly facility. Thank you for
putting out public information on our facilities."
