Country Store

Alice and Alvin
had a store
weren't self-serve
just served the poor

But by God
it ain't no more
the A & A
done closed its door

The country store
had its heyday
but like the farms
it went away

Alice and Alvin
moved into town
and the country store
it got torn down

Nuthin's like
it was before
nobody wants
to farm no more

Then Walmart's
opened up next door
and there ain't no place
for a country store.
