They
used to sell wares going 'round door to door, now they've gone by the wayside
can't be seen anymore
The country has changed not the same as before,
the door to door salesman passed on into lore
Wal-Mart put an end
to the friendly corner store, and customer service isn't the same
anymore
Then slowly the Internet came in the back door, and on-line
buying replaced a real store
So salesmen went the way of Model
T Fords, and buying and selling isn't fun anymore
The thing that
is missing that gets to the core, there's no conversation like there
was before
And the traveling salesman won't be seen evermore,
for friendliness died at our bolted front doors. © d.knape
