FOR FATHER'S DAY

For Father's Day
don't get me a gift
because frankly I don't deserve it
and besides you can save the money
and buy Yourself something nice
which is a much better use of your coin
but instead
just buy me one of those expensive cards from Hallmark
that is decorated in flowers and picturesque scenes
and extols my many virtues
that says how great I am
and all the wonderful things I accomplished
that I am truly the greatest living human being
that ever walked the face of the earth
and an inspiration for all mankind
then I'll eat my favorite meal
followed by a nice piece of chocolate cake
and then settle down in the recliner
to dream of distant lands and unicorns
and let the Maalox kick in
I'll be out of the way
and your mother will be happy because
I won't be in her hair
as she cleans up the kitchen
from the big mess of Father's Day
needless to say
I am honored to be your Father
the pleasure was all mine.
