Moon Glow

Did you see
the moon last night
full-faced and smiling
as it clipped the trees

who would think
the moon would come so close
that we could almost
touch it

who would not gasp
startled
at the daring
of such a moon

a moon that dipped
so recklessly
and came so close
to falling.
