While
we watched in awe and wept we saw one man take one small step and with
that step thrust mankind far into the company of stars
We stoppped
to watch, to see him land upon the moon, that step so grand awestruck
were we, those left behind how proud we were for all mankind
Millions
stood in line to see men on the moon on live TV what wonder we expressed
that day old glory proudly on display
In the race for outer space we accelerated human pace celebrating our
belief we would advance the cause of peace
He landed where no man
had gone took that last step, his mission done despite the perils he had
fought he was the perfect astronaut
Now he has passed, still we recall he
was a hero to us all the best was he, could not go wrong no better man
than Neil Armstrong.
