I
go
out
to see the rain
just to watch it
to see how it looks
then listening to its wonderful music
its joyous song played out
upon the roofs and car tops
that special tap tap tapping
on windows
the gentle pinging of it
piano keys playing off gutters
it bounces off the driveway
it trickles down the downspouts
puddles form
watch
as it begins to run in the street
rivulets begin
grow waterfalls
carrying off all the leaves
river rafting down to storm drains
all that water building
cascading from all the
neighborhood streets eventually
roaring out into the creek
which goes wide and broad
becomes powerful
goes bank to bank
beautiful in the moonlight
a symphony of rushing water
thunder booms
the lights blink
the power goes out
storm wins by TKO
trees glisten
accepting gratefully the downpour
the outpouring of love in
kisses of raindrops
wait till tomorrow when
all will be green
renewed
refreshed
all life will be smiling
as it celebrates new vigor
a new happiness found
from the blessing
that is rain.
