Old
folks, old barns are similar about the same to me, both get grayer with
their age get weathered as can be
Old folks, old barns start leaning
as they start to show their age, old folks need walking canes to walk
barns, timbers strongly braced
Old barns lean in toward the floor
begin to come apart, old people, more than likely get broken in their hearts
Old folks, old barns, ordinarily have things they keep inside, both have loving memories
times when they laughed or cried
Each have stood the elements the
toils of earthly strife, both share determination not to fall or fail their
life
In the end old folks, old barns still greet the rising sun, both
of them can't wait to see what comes with each new dawn
So if you're passing
either one as you race down life's highway, stop in and spend some time
with them before they pass away. ©
