The Sun And The Clouds

The day drifts
slowly by,
going in
and out of clouds

once sunny
then dark,
the day changes
with a whim

like going in
and out of a door

it swings from
light to darkness,
changing in capricious moods

the sun
cannot decide
what it wants to be

and we become clouds
with little else to do
but drift

searching for a place
where days are always long

and clouds cannot
cast shadows.
