im thinkin
there ain't nuthin purdier
than this here sunset
going behind that big black mountain
wavin goodbye
like an old friend leavin on a plane
the sun turns out the light
says goodnight
until we meet again
that glow that beautiful roundness
that golden light
falling limp
behind the pile of stone
leaves you kinda sad
another day gone
but the beauty of it
inspires old timers like me
as to the wonders of creation
you don't have to go to foreign places
like new york city
to see beauty
it's all here in these mountains
in this sky
sunsets are free for all to see
gift of god
to us ole cowboys
or anybody else that is
who takes the time to watch um
and
scribble a line or two
on what's in your mellow heart.
