A wall
stood tall between the two each with something to protect
The wall
was built of stone in fact no one would listen or inspect
Their
greetings nil, their words so few a hatred grew from pure neglect
Behind the wall they never knew their rigid views were circumspect
The
wall entombed them, it was true no word of kindness ever let
And in
the end, between the two the pity was they never met.
