Throwaway Children

i bring them home
like lost children
coming from the orphanage
of recycled books
they are homeless
thrown away or
sold for pennies on the dollar
now with me
they will have shelter
a safe warm place
without worry of tomorrow
someone to appreciate them
to hold them close
like precious children
here they will be cherished
protected
in my home
for unwanted
second class books
here
they will be loved.
