I
wish I was a country star, have my songs played in every honky tonk
bar, but the ultimate sign of fame, by far would be havin' my name on
the town's water tower
I can see it now this ain't no lie it's
already there in my mind's eye, my name on high couldn't get much
higher fluorescent paint on the water tower
Then just for fun I'd
discretely inquire if they heard of me my fame acquired, I'd be grinnin'
then with all my power recognized by name from the water tower
It's obvious no mystery I'd love that fame and visibility happy,
I'd be singin' with the choir my name ingrained on the water tower. |
