Weeping
angel, all alone
your head upon the cold hard stone
crestfallen eyes sadly suggest
your sorrow for the one at rest
Wings folded in the hallowed mist
convey angelic tenderness
to stay awhile, we can't resist
admiring your fair loveliness
Vandals scarred your figure, yet
nothing mars your silhouette
golden moonbeams tint your face
reflecting light of heavenly grace
In the moment, on this day
inspiring those who pass this way
we pray that when we too are gone
like angels weep upon our stone.
