Life
is a natural well
we gladly drink our fill,
our throats are always dry
our thirst is never quelled
Each day we tap the well
as thirstily we refill,
assuming that the well
has ample water still
One day we are dismayed
how quickly years went by,
now only a trickle flows
the well is going dry
And as to the reason
we receive this wry reply,
the well was never deep enough
demand exceeded the supply.
