What
brings us closer
is our years,
the breath of time
those moments shared
What memories
we now reclaim,
more precious now
than they first seemed
What brings us closer
common dreams,
some we fulfilled
some unforeseen
Now in the twilight
of our lives,
we're closer than
we realized
In that we now
so easily share
our random thoughts
in love compared
Between us two
we have so much,
these quieter times
a gentle touch
A smile, a laugh
such menial fare,
true friendship with
the one who cares
Age is not
the cruelest thing
when 'tween two people
closeness brings
In truth age is
an worthy host,
it brings two people
ever
close.
