History in
a Pecan Shell
Cañada Verde was
settled in the 1860s and it seems nothing noteworthy happened for
sometime. No population figures are available for the 19th century
– or the 20th, either. It seems to have peaked during the Great Depression
when the town had three stores, a church and school. After WWII,
the school was consolidated with Floresville
but the town holds on to its own identity. |

Note:
Not much here. There are several modern homes in the area, but if
there was anything left of the original town, then they all look like
these dilapidated buildings. - Terry
