History on
a Pinhead
Since the community
was surrounded by the huge Dull's
Ranch, the name was, perhaps, inevitable.
The Dull Brothers sold their ranch in 1901 and the land sold in tracts.
Los Angeles and
Fowlerton were two other towns
formed by this break-up.
Established in 1912, it soon had a post office and was on the tracks
of the San Antonio, Uvalde and Gulf Railroad. The town underwent a
change of name in 1915 to Nettaville (no explanation available)
and although the post office closed under that name, the community
was still marked on maps as Dull into the 1960s. |
