History in
a Pecan Shell
The community has
no 19th century history since it developed as a post WWII
suburb. It laid its foundations in the late 1940s and incorporated
in 1955. By 1960 the population was 783, more than doubling to 2,299
for 1970. Growth stabilized and the 2,841 people who lived here in
1990 had only increased to 2,983 by the 2000 Census.
Photographer's Note:
Some cities just don't have old buildings. in fact, some cities are
new as of later than 1950 or so.....but since you do have them on
your lists of towns, I thought it right that I at least account for,
and give the town a "face" or photo identity. - Stephen
