a Pecan Shell
Once listed as
a farm community Norway may be one of the least-populated and short-lived
communities in the long list
of Texas ghost towns. Formed sometime in the 1920s, the community
was gone from maps by the 1960s.
It seems to have peaked with a population of just 20 residents. The
community of Sweden,
Texas was not far away - and the name of another Scandinavian
country may have been suggested in jest. Nothing remains of the place
- not even directions to finding where it once was. |
