History in
a Pecan Shell
Named to honor
Marie Stella Turcotte Kenedy, wife of Rancher John G. Kenedy,
Sr., the “town” was merely a stop alongside the tracks of the St.
Louis, Brownsville and Mexico Railroad. It had a station built at
one point (no longer standing) and remains a shipping point for cattle
from the King Ranch.
