This handsome mural
was painted in 1939 by California artist Howard Fisher, an artist who was once
employed by a Hollywood movie studio.
Liberty’s location on the Trinity
River was clearly in mind, although, this may be one of those cases where the
artist didn’t actually journey to the town for inspiration but instead used his
imagination for a “typical” scene representing the region. The mural has been
removed from Liberty’s
former post office and reinstalled in the current one. |
