"Apparently
there used to be a rail line from Clairette
to Hico
or vice versa with two very nice through truss bridges. The old County
Road 270 must have paralleled the railroad on the west side having
two ponies; one from about 1910 and one maybe 1950. When the rail
line was abandoned, the county took over the one lane RR bridges and
closed the ponies. So, each through truss has a closed pony bridge
to the west.
For simplicity I have labeled them:
North Pony, North Through Truss,
South Pony and South Through Truss." |
