History in
a Pecan Shell
The name of the
town is believed to be a corruption of Arenosa Creek.
The town was granted a post office in 1886 and had a population of
100 by 1890.
The post office closed in 1916 and a slow decline set in.
By 1940 there were only a few residences and by the 1980s it was taken
off of highway maps. |
