History in
a Pecan Shell
Tejon is Spanish
word for raccoon.
It was a town, albeit a small one in the 1930s when the railroad had
a stop there. The Handbook of Texas mentions a school and "several
dwellings" at the site in 1936.
The 1948 county highway map is said to be the last one on which Tejon
appeared. |
Tejon, Texas
Forum:
The area known
as Tejon is a road now known as Alton Gloor road. There is a small
cemetery that is still in use today. The area is commercialized and
many new subdivisions now exist in the area. - Ida. Adeigbe, September
