History in
a Pecan Shell
Originally known
as Ray School Community after a small school built in 1885,
it was renamed when the school got a second teacher in 1912.
A post office existed from 1894 to 1904.
A gin operated from 1903 to 1917 and Toto's last business, a store
closed in 1930.
The school closed in 1943, essentially making Toto a memory. Neither
the town or cemetery is shown on TxDoT maps. |
