History in
a Pecan Shell
A
forgotten community with an unforgettable name, Who'd Thought It -
in a perfect world would come with a question mark after it's name.
The Handbook of Texas doesn't mention a post office by that
name and it's unlikely that the postal authorities would've approved
such a name even if it had been submitted. No explanation is given.
The community's birth is uncertain as well, with the Handbook saying
only "sometime after 1900." The town's schoolchildren attended classes
at Sand Hill and the community consisted of only a few stores
and residences - reaching it's zenith before WWII.
No population figures are given. |
