History in
a Pecan Shell
When
the Danciger Oil and Refining Company opened their Pledger Dome gas
field in 1933, the town came into being and the following year a post
office was granted. By the end of that decade, the community reported
150 residents supported by two businesses.
From the 1970s through 1990, Danciger’s population was reported at
314 people. It has since increased to 357 (the 2000 census). |
