History on a Pinhead

The Higginbotham Brothers (J.M. and R.W.) made this the headquarters for their ranch in the first years of the 20th Century.

In 1914 the brothers also founded the Higginbotham-Bartlett Company in Seagraves, Texas.

But with hardly any population, the “community” didn’t appear on maps until the 1960s. The population in 1964 was just 150.

The population hovered around 210 for the 1970-1990 censuses.
