History in a Pecan Shell

Kokomo was founded along the tracks of the Texas and Pacific railroad. A post office under the name Kokomo was in operation from 1899 to 1907.

The Kokomo school opened shortly after the turn of the century and closed by 1920.

Kokomo still appears on county maps and a cemetery is shown as well.
