Take
a buoy to lunch.
It’s somehow very fitting (or suspicious) that on a day when Congress
goes on a five week vacation, it’s suddenly announced that it’s
National Lighthouse Day. While its not known how many businesses
are closed in observance, the US Postal Service will deliver mail
as usual (losing another $25 million in the process). The observance
may have passed us by had we not been notified by our friends at
Arcadia Publishing. They sent a list of their books available on
the topic. They have 32 titles on Lighthouses. http://www.arcadiapublishing.com/theme/Lighthouses

For
our readers that care to probe the psychology of lighthouse keepers,
a very entertaining book of interviews compiled and edited by the
Late English author Tony Parker is available from various sellers
on Amazon. Eight used copies start at .50 and go up to $4.
For our observance of National Lighthouse Day, we’ll be closing shop
early to feed seagulls. For our readers, we present a collection of
lighthouses by Ken
and Yvonne Rudine: |
