crown the two breezeway entrances to the basement; the only public
entrance to the courthouse during the photographer's December 2007
visit.

"In October
of 2005, the Travis County Courthouse was renamed in honor of Heman
Marion Sweatt. Sweatt sued the University of Texas in 1946 for denying
him admission to the U.T. Law School because he was Black. This marker
is displayed at the East side entrance to the courthouse." -
