The
1892 Rockwall County Courthouse |
"The 1878 courthouse was replaced by a native
sandstone building in 1892 at a cost of $25,000 and was an architectural
showpiece of its day. As beautiful as it was, in the late 1930s the
mortar began to fail and the building was deemed unsafe and was razed."
