9 boys left went off to war 9 won't be returning any more
the little town so very sad gave up the best of all they had
in just 12 months and 9 short days those 9 boys were taken away
9 boys went while others stayed seemed like too great a price to pay
9 boys who one at a time were killed before they reached their prime
so
many wept a lesson
learned boys go off and don't return
9 boys died now all you
see 9 tombstones in the cemetery
and the little town that gave
its best now marks 9 graves all they have left.
