of the United States and the U.S. Armed Forces displayed behind it."

balcony sits over the rear entrance of the courtroom. In this picture,
you can see part of the metal pressed ceiling (and also the photographer's

stained glass window of "Justice" is in the stairwell on the west
side of the building. Her blindfold appears when there is no light
shining through."

third floor of the 1909
courthouse.
This courthouse burned down in 1906.
*The Texas Historical Commission County Atlas gives the date of the
second courthouse as 1885."
