Road seems to be the first paved road to the east of Hwy 95 after
passing the Holland Cemetery. I did not clock the milage, but would
imagine it is at least 5 although not likely as much as 10 miles from

pleasant Sunday drive for Austinites, Wacoans or Templeans,
Sunshine Road connects the two East Bell County towns of Holland and Rogers.
This unpaved road crosses both Georgia and Knob Creeks as well as
the Little River. |
It's
tranquil, safe and short enough to leave time for a good lunch in
Temple, Georgetown
or Waco.
You can even take a second drive and continue to explore the rest
of Bell County.

Sunshine Road correction
Dear TE: I was reading the "Bell County Sunshine Road " entry on your
website and need to point out a mistake.
The steel
truss bridge shown is over the Little River, not "George
Branch." The bridge was open until a flood washed out the approaches
in 1992, and it remained closed until a new bridge was built a couple
of years ago.
This bridge is severed from both banks, so there is no way to access
it. I thought I would bring this to your attention. - Sincerely, Austin
