History in
a Pecan Shell
Established in
the final months of the 19th Century, not a lot of history was produced
here. Always short on people due to its proximity to Edna,
El Toro is remembered by this postal cover from the John Germann Collection.
The community still had four businesses as late as 1948 but being
surrounded by large land holdings, smaller plots were unavailable
for families. El Toro peaked many years ago and is now designated
a "dispersed community." |
