The Present
Andrews County Courthouse
- Andrews,
Texas
Date - 1939
Architect - W.T. Strange
Style - Moderne
Material - Brick
The building has been dramatically modifided over the years.
Photographer's Note:
"The front of the Andrews County courthouse faces U.S. 385. Additions
to the front, the sides and a large addition to the rear has obscured
most of the original building, but perhaps that's a good thing. A
new elevator was being installed during my visit in June, 2006. Aside
from the courtroom, the only other interesting thing I saw on the
inside was a Kirby vacuum cleaner in a glass case. It's the one-millionth
vacuum cleaner built at the Kirby-West manufacturing plant in Andrews.
